Longova Case Study

The Problem

Longova set out to build a preventative health platform delivered through clinics, hospitals, employer and payer programs, pharma programs, and research institutions. The premise was straightforward: better health decisions come from a continuous picture of a person, not from a snapshot taken once a quarter in an exam room.

The obstacle was that almost every existing tool asks the patient to do the work. Nutrition tracking means searching a database and entering portions by hand — tedious enough that most people quit within weeks, and unreliable for anyone eating regional or ethnic cuisine that Western-trained food databases barely cover. Body composition readings, wearable vitals, and lab results each live in their own silo, so nothing is ever assembled into a whole. Longova needed the data to collect itself, and it needed clinicians looking at the same picture the patient was.

What We Did

We designed and developed the full platform: the patient mobile app, the clinician and organization dashboard, and the admin console that runs the business behind them.

The engineering challenge was less in any one source than in reconciling all four — device readings, high-frequency wearable data, and unstructured documents — into one coherent timeline that stays fast to read.

That timeline feeds a consented AI module, which is why its advice is specific to the person rather than generic wellness copy. We scoped it deliberately: it does not recommend medication. It advises on routine, non-invasive, low-risk changes only — a boundary we built into the product rather than bolting on as a disclaimer.

The clinician dashboard keeps a human in the loop, organizing everything into modules for meals, body, activity, vitals, sleep, mind, and labs. Behind it, the admin console lets Longova onboard any organization type under a structured location and provider coding system, assign plans that gate which modules each organization receives, generate editable invoices automatically from those plans, and track allocation and shipment of physical machines down to the serial number — all while keeping patient health information out of the administrative layer entirely.

Impact

Commercially, the admin console means Longova can sell to a clinic, a hospital group, an employer program, or a research lab and onboard each one with its own module mix, pricing, and hardware allocation without engineering involvement. Work on the platform is ongoing, with the plans and invoicing system the most recent addition.
